Paul Mitchell – PM Shines

PM Shines is Paul Mitchell’s latest, semi-permanent hair color. It’s an easy-to-use liquid gel formula that leaves hair healthy, vibrant and ultra-shiny. PM Shines are available in 35 mixable shades and one clear gloss. When mixed with Clear Shine it provides even-toned, shiny and radiant hair. Since it is rich in moisture, it helps color even the most damaged hair. Ammonia-free, it fades gently with about 25 shampoos. As a result, if you make a mistake in choosing the right shade, you don’t need to stick with it for long.

Formulated using Intense Hydrating Complex (IHC), this hair color penetrates deep into the shaft and hydrates the hair. This formula contains a unique conditioning agent derived from grass seeds present in it. This agent along with the IHC formula helps repair damage and intensify the glow. The ingredients of this hair color include soy protein. During the coloring process, hair loses some of its amino acids and the soy protein in PM Shines helps replenish it. Clear Shine also contains UV absorbers to prevent color fading and reduce environmental damage. It has a clear and pleasant fragrance that makes hair coloring a soothing experience.

How to mix and apply PM Shines?

Mixing

It has 12 tonal bases, 1 clear shine and 5 intermixable color shots. Always mix PM SHINES® and Processing Liquid in equal parts in a 1:1 ratio. The minimum, medium and maximum dilution formulas for light levels of color are predefined using Clear Shine. They are the following:

For minimum dilution, up to 1 level lighter

Mix 1 ½ or 45ml PM Shine with ½ or 15ml Clear Shine and 2oz or 60ml Processing Liquid.

For medium dilution, 2 levels up to light

Mix it with 1oz or 30ml of Clear Shine and 2oz or 60ml of Treatment Liquid.

For maximum impairment, up to 3 levels mild

Tips for color using Paul Mitchell

Choosing the right shade

Paul Mitchell colors are richer than most colors because they are highly pigmented. So you need light or dark colors to get a relevant appearance. It’s a good practice to try a semi-permanent or temporary finish first so you can make sure you’re making the right decision when choosing a color.

Discovering the salon

You can only get Paul Mitchell color from Paul Mitchell affiliated licensed salons with stylists specially trained for the service. You can either call your salon or check their website to see if they carry Paul Mitchell products.

Hair care

Exposure to the sun and harmful chemicals from used shampoos can strip your hair of its color. To ensure that the color lasts longer, you should try to avoid the sun as much as possible or wear a protective hat. Regular shampoos contain chemicals like sulfates that damage colored hair. Paul Mitchell has its own line of sulfate-free shampoos that protect your colored hair. Providing adequate care for colored hair can ensure that your color lasts up to 8 weeks.
