If you push your muscles beyond their regular capacity you will build muscle faster. Once you’ve passed your comfort point you’re done. Just remember that the longer you push your max, the longer it will take to recover and rebuild. Remember your whole goal here is to build muscle fast. So take care of yourself and don’t forget to rest.
I have seen many people in the gym doing too many sets or too many reps than what is good for them. Doing these things will hinder you from building muscle quickly. 1) Do not train more than 3 days a week.
2) Keep your gym training to less than every 60 minutes.
3) Perform 5-7 sets for large muscle groups such as chest, back and upper legs and 2-4 sets for smaller muscles such as shoulders, biceps, triceps, calves and abs.
One final note: make sure you take your sets to your absolute concentric muscle failure and add more weight and repetitions each week. If you are doing things right you will gain muscle faster and see results. The last thing you want to do at this point is add more work-outs each week.
Doing so can hinder your workout gains. So rest is really the key to building muscle fast.
