Many network marketers ask how they can find more time to build their business. The simple answer is to duplicate yourself. What is so great about the network marketing industry anyway? Duplicating yourself is the only way to achieve more and multiply your productivity if you can do it yourself productively and efficiently. When this time comes, we all have equal access. No one has more or less than 24-7-365.
Where time differs for those in network marketing is how we spend it. Undoubtedly, it is the most valuable item. But if you are productive, efficient and sure that you don’t waste it on non-result-producing activities in your MLM business, the only way to get more work is to duplicate yourself.
Of course, this is easier said than done. Duplicating yourself and adding people are not the same thing, so don’t confuse the two. In network marketing you need people to offload work from you and duplicate you in quality and quantity.
They may not be as good as you, but the aim is to empower people and double your productivity as much as possible to make them productive, knowledgeable and independent.
A quick tip: don’t spend time with people who waste your time – in other words, people who don’t run their business like you do. Your time cannot depend on someone else’s time!
Unfortunately, those people become a burden and they slow down your business. You have to monitor them and give them a list of things to do, and then check to make sure they’ve done it! It’s a waste of time.
The key to great imitation is finding someone who can practice anticipatory thinking. They are always thinking ahead (anticipating) and evaluating everything they do to see how it will affect the end result or what the action will lead to.
When you start delegating, you can’t let them run with it. Now you must initiate and implement a successful formula of offloading responsibility, delegation and replication: measure, monitor, adjust and control.
You have to measure what they are doing. So to begin with, the assignment must be measurable. If you can’t measure a task, you can’t define it, so it probably won’t be productive. If you can measure it, you can monitor it through many different ways.
Now you are monitoring. If the desired outcome is not there, you can adjust, by mediating, coaching or working with them to improve the outcome. By adjusting what is being done, you can control the outcome or outcome and greatly increase what is being produced. If you understand this, you have actually created time!
If you are productive and efficient and you add a second person to your MLM organization who is productive (50 to 75 percent effectively satisfied), you have doubled your time and productivity.
Here’s an example: If you work twenty hours each week, and they work 20 hours each week, then that’s 40 hours put into your business. If you have three times that and four more people, total, now putting in 20 hours, you’re now getting 120 hours of leverage for the 20 you put in. Of course there is some slippage and it depends on how well you manage (measure, monitor, adjust and control).
But before we take it too far or get too excited, freeze! Stop it! You need to check yourself before you ruin yourself! Many people are not maximizing their time or productivity in network marketing. Be sure that you lead by example and only do activities that produce results before expecting others to do the same.
Don’t care about keeping time. What counts are results or activities that increase productivity. I have struggled with this in my network marketing organizations over the years and have finally boiled it down to a formula that makes it almost scalable.
That’s a simple formula: TQ = GD = V = S. We all put in time (T), but the key is the quality of time (Q), which multiplies time itself so it is expressed as an exponential.
A number multiplied by itself is called an exponent. Quality of time is quantified by the number of activities that produce results. When you offload responsibility or are duplicating how passionate and dedicated you are through others, focusing on result-producing activities using anticipatory thinking determines the power of ‘Q’ (quality of time).
Fundamentally, it comes down to anticipatory thinking where they know the objective and always think ahead to how they will affect the outcome or accelerate its completion.
Time for an exponent of quality produces or is directly proportional to (in an ideal world equal to) growth (G) or productivity. So, when you add to the power of duplication, that increase multiplies itself by your duplication, giving you (GD).
That quantity in turn translates into Volume (V) or Sales (S) (in your MLM business). Of course, your volume or sales provide you with your residual income.
So how do you get more done and ensure you’re working at maximum efficiency to achieve result-producing activities? The first thing you need to do is have a clear goal for your business (or your life). What exactly are you trying to do?
As soon as your vision is clear and you are actively pursuing it, you must anticipate the impact your actions will have on your business. How does ‘A’ affect ‘B’, etc.? Ask yourself: Am I expecting everything? Am I missing something? Take time to think! That is the most important thing. Don’t just give it time. Don’t try to do anything or cover your gluteus maximus.
Once you decide to actively pursue your goals and succeed, you have placed yourself among the cream of the crop in the network marketing industry. Now the game begins. How do you get to the top 5 percent in productivity? Absolute success lies in network marketing!
